Hey beautiful people,

Today’s post is inspired by a beautiful young lady called Hannah Amedu, who was brave to share her story about living with  Alopecia. Alopecia Areata occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks the hair follicles which is responsible for hair growth.  September is a month dedicated to raising awareness for Alopecia. Hannah used this opportunity to create more awareness on her Instagram platform by creating a challenge to encourage other young women to embrace themselves. Most importantly their own kind of ‘Beautiful’

Hannah’s story caught my attention from the first time I watched her on AllsImperial’s channel on You-Tube.  I admired her strength as a 17-year-old African girl! In the African community, a woman’s hair ‘defines’  her beauty. However, thankfully with the natural hair movement and phenomenal women like Hannah stepping up to encourage people to other types of beauty. People are enlightened,  thank you, Hannah!!  I am inspired by your strength. The challenge has impacted people’s lives as they have been empowered to look beyond physical beauty and to accept their perfect imperfections.

Raising awareness for Alopecia has sent the powerful message of unity, empowerment and it is proof that we all go through struggles at different stages of our lives. This is life at the best shaping and forming us into better persons.
Baby girl don’t you forget the strength you posses as a young women!!
I do believe that my strength is a gift from God and for that I am grateful! Stop being so harsh on yourself.  Learn to love and appreciate how far you’ve come and I can assure you, it’s a lot more productive!!   Put it this way, you’ve come this far and you haven’t given up yet. You are doing something right and that’s Strength in itself.
This post is dedicated to all the young women, you are beautiful. You are phenomenal and amazing.
