Hey beautiful people,

It feels like a whole year has passed since I last sat down to write a blog post! The last couple of weeks have been hectic and by far one of the most challenging experience of my entire year. Through my conversations with others about  Christmas and the holiday season, it seems there is a general agreement that this season can be overwhelming. The emotions and vibes are a mixture of  excitement, anticipation, irritation and resentment. For me one of the destructing part of this season is knowing that over a 9,000 people will wake up on Christmas Day homeless. Whether sleeping in cars, tents, trains, buses or on the street (sleeping rough). From my experience of working with homeless people, I also know it can be a sensitive time as reality kicks in on Christmas Day. While I don’t intend for this post to leave you feeling downcast. I want it to be a gentle reminder to us all to take a moment to stop wishing about anything and everything but to be grateful. Grateful for all the ‘ups’ and ‘downs’, all the amazing experiences and opportunities and the not so good ones. After going through an emotional roller coaster, I am now spending the next few days being grateful of the little things. Sometimes we take things like having a roof over our head or being surrounded by loved ones for granted! But not everyone is privileged with this…

We all know Christmas has lost its true essence and about the learning of the birth of Jesus. It is much more about families getting together, giving (hopefully receiving) , Santa coming and decorating beautiful trees which is all equally great and exciting! But please don’t break your bank trying to get presents. For example, I like to wait until Stephen’s Day/ Boxing Day to take advantage of bargains and special offers because the New Year is around the corner and you don’t want to be broke in the first month of a new year. Also remember to treat yourself and buy yourself a present too!

I will be celebrating Christmas in a very different way this year and I cannot wait to share it with you all.I would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas  filled with fun, peace and happiness

See you soon,

Much love Florence
