Hey beautiful people,
24 seems to be the lucky number. In continuation of the celebration of my birthday and the blog turning two years today, I thought to share 24 life lessons. These lessons have contributed to my growth both in my personal life and on the blog.
- Patience is a virtue, sometimes we worry too much about everything and anything while in the end, when we remain calm and patient, things work it self out.
2. Trust your own journey and stay on my own lane, don’t compare yourself to others.
3. When you have an idea or vision don’t be scared to take the bold step to make it a reality. Start now and start simple, you will gain the experience over time.
4. Be careful who you confide in because not everyone has your best interest in heart.
5. Don’t chase friends, instead chase your vision and your dream. Friends will follow.
6. Surround yourself with the right people (I am a firm believer in this). The biggest issue is finding people who genuinely have your best interest at heart, but when you find them, keep them close. Human beings are created for relationship, the world is too big to be alone!
7. Work hard, be diligent, invest and save. However remember to live your best life while you achieve these things.
8. Step out of your comfort zone. Sometimes being too comfortable is more detrimental to our potentials.
9. Find your passion, discover your gift (especially when you are young) and master it! Don’t simply rely on your degree.
10. Treat people well and be respectful, you will never know whose help you will need tomorrow.
11. Love yourself and embrace who you are.
12. Be grateful,I know sometimes I struggle with this and then I listen to another person’s story and think to yourself ‘gosh they are going through a lot worst’! but really it should not be this way, contentment is important at every phase of our lives.
13. Forgive but don’t forget otherwise you will end up making the same mistake.
14. Travel, it is a great way of experiencing the world, it contributes to having an open mindset and learning new things about yourself and the world around you. However, it is also important to prioritise and manage your time and resources, remember there is a time and season for everything.
15. I have officially refrained from the term ‘Family is everything’ because I have seen that this is not so true. But my family is everything to me, they know me so well and have seen me in my highest, lowest, kindest, most mean, most beautiful and not so beautiful self. I think that pretty much summarizes everything, I love my family and I appreciate them.
16. Believe in something! Have some form of spirituality, I believe in God. This world is too deep to not believe in a higher power.
17. Exercising and stay fit, this is important for our physical, mental and even our spiritual well-being. They all go hand in hand.
18. Find yourself before you find a man or vice versa. You bring way more to the table when you understand yourself and you create better boundaries.
19. Give, it is a life principle. When you give, you get more.
20. Dress well, present yourself in the most respectful way at all times.
21. Treat yourself, spend on you before anyone else does. Always put you first!
22. Take care of your parents.
23. Read, be educated.
24. Believe in yourself.

Hi Bunmi, thank you for stopping by on the blog today. Thank you so much!
I love these, all of them are so true. We have to really stay true to us and not get caught up in a lot of the “trends” and trying to all be the same!
Hi Jessi, thank you for stopping by on the blog. Yes, we have to stay true to ourselves and remain unique. Besides, life would be so boring if we were all the same. I hope to see you soon on the blog
I have discovered traveling and love it. Now that they kids are older I am able to travel more.
Hi Tara, thank you for stopping by! I am glad you found this especially now that the kids are older and you might have more time on your hands? I cannot wait to finish with Uni myself and travel more!

I do believe that hard work will always bring you so many accomplishments. And when you do that work for yourself, investing in your self and in your ideas, then it’s even more valuable and you feel prouder and prouder of you.
Hi Joanna, thank you for stopping by on the blog and yes I agree with your points. Hard work pays off on many levels including consistency. I am glad, you could relate to the post! I hope to see you again on the blog
To start with, you look so gorgeous! That red suit is just as fierce as your lessons are! And I agree with them 100% especially when you talk about trusting one’s own journey, believing in God and stepping out of one’s comfort zone. A well, traveling always brings greater ideas.

Hi Natalie, thank you so much. Wow SIX years now that deserves a round of applause! Time definitely flies, it feels like yesterday when I published my first post.
Hi Natalie, can you share the link to your blog please
Wow, what a great list of tips here, dear! I love point #23, “read, be educated”. Well said! I have personally been trying to read more books lately. By the way, you look gorgeous on that set!
Hi Ola, thank you so much for stopping by. Thank you for the complement and yes, I plan on reading 5 books before this year ends myself. I hope to see you again on the blog
The one that I most agree on is — don’t chase after friends. It’s just hard. People just fall apart after some time and we cannot force it. Nor should we really feel bad. Let’s just treat it as part of life.
Hi Mommy Sigrid, thank you for stopping by. Yes I definitely agree, I went through a phase where I chased friends and it became and ‘becomes’ draining. As you said it is best to treat as part of life that people change and to accept it. That way we focus on our lives and the changes that goes on within it
What a great blog. I love all of these. Omg your outfit is amazing. So powerful and confident in the red! Striking!
